Film Streams Support

Each year, filmmakers throughout the world produce dozens of exhilarating new movies – groundbreaking films with the power to stir emotions and inspire imaginations as only great cinema can do. For years, many of these films have passed by the Omaha area without playing on a single screen. We want to change that. We want local audiences to have access to the most promising independents, documentaries, and foreign films being made today, as well as repertory selections rarely experienced anymore on the big screen.

So, with the tremendous support of our community, we've built a theater. A wonderful, comfortable, exciting new theater in downtown Omaha with two screens devoted to quality films both past and present.

As a mission-based, nonprofit cinema, Film Streams depends on the ongoing support of our community to survive. Each year, approximately 45% of our income will come from box office and concessions sales. The rest we raise through memberships, donations, and grants from foundations, corporations, and government organizations. There are several ways to support Film Streams, and we hope you’ll take a moment to explore those options listed to the left.
