A naïve Hollywood director sets out to make a social film about the hardships of poverty called “O Brother Where Art Thou.” Knowing nothing of his subject, Sullivan (Joel McCrea) takes to the road as hobo, encountering a down-on-her-luck actress (Veronica Lake) and many unforeseen troubles.
