Easy Virtue 4

Based on a play by Noël Coward, Isabel Jeans plays a woman accused of adultery. She is innocent, but finds no one who believes her. She flees to France to restart her life. Finding love again, it seems she’ll be able to move on from her fall from grace. But her new fiancé’s family learns her secret and works to drive them apart. The restoration of this film proved most difficult for the British Film Institute. At the time of the project, EASY VIRTUE only existed as a low-quality 16mm print.

The Score
Ben Brodin (Conor Oberst, Jake Bellows), an Omaha-based recording engineer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, will score the film. Ben has performed for Film Streams’ Silents in Concert series on several occasions, usually accompanying Todd and Orenda Fink (The Faint, Azure Ray).
