Control

Dir. Anton Corbijn UK / USA 121 min R

2007 The Weinstein Company

Directed by acclaimed music photographer Anton Corbijn and based on Deborah Curtis’ “Touching from a Distance,” CONTROL tells the story of the late Joy Division singer Ian Curtis, from his band’s rise to fame to his tragic suicide. Featuring an incredible performance from newcomer Sam Riley as Ian Curtis, CONTROL documents the musician’s relationships with both his wife and his girlfriend, his battle with epilepsy, and the road to success with his band. Featuring a score by New Order, with original tracks by Warsaw and Joy Division.

“It’s Corbijn, shooting with a poet’s eye in a harshly stunning black-and-white, who cuts to the soul of Ian’s life and music. You don’t watch this movie, you live it.” (Rolling Stone)
